Tool 4 · Cancellation policy

A cancellation and lockout policy clients can’t misread.

A same-day cancel or a locked door costs you the whole slot. Pick your notice window and fees, and copy plain wording for your quotes, booking form and welcome text.

    Your policy wording

Plain wording to adapt, not legal advice. Make sure clients see and agree to it before the first visit, for example in the quote or booking form.

    Why spell it out

A lost slot is lost income

You rarely fill a same-day gap. A cancelled visit loses its price minus the trip you didn’t make, which is the “lost visit” line on the label.

    Clear beats strict

Clients accept a fee they agreed to in writing. Put the hours, the percentage and the dollar amount side by side so nobody has to work it out.

    Say what’s included too

Cleaners who quote by the job warn that scope causes more arguments than price. List what a standard visit covers and what counts as an extra in the same message.
